Job Description
To drive the execution of credit risk strategies that optimize the subsidiary’s credit portfolios from a reward versus risk perspective while balancing capital constraints and market sensitivity to levels of non-performing debt. Also plays a crucial role in evaluating credit risk, setting credit policies, and ensuring the overall health and profitability of the credit portfolio.

Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities Ensure efficient implementation and compliance with Letshego’s policies, procedures relating to credit risk portfolio, including for provisioning, write offs and arrears management. Prepare monthly reports on country management of arrears and compliance. Make recommendations for Country write offs. Advise on best practice on the collections and tracing procedures. Provide recommendations on achieving set loan book performance and impairments practices. Ensure that all loans and lending procedures comply with applicable regulations. Analyze Risk Assessment: Analyze credit applications, financial statements, and other relevant information to assess the creditworthiness of borrowers and determine appropriate credit limits Portfolio Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the performance of the credit portfolio, identify trends and potential risks, and make recommendations for portfolio optimization. Key Performance Indicators: Customer Credit Worthiness Adherence to credit regulations, policies and procedures Credit Reporting Complexity of the Role: Multi-cultural awareness and the ability to interact with a wide range of differing levels in the Group, government, society and business in general. Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Banking/Economics/Accounting orother equivalent financial qualification. At least 4 years’ experience in Credit Portfolio Management within Financial Services Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) , Financial Risk Manager (FRM) Knowledge of local laws, rules and regulations Understanding of credit portfolio strategies to maximize benefit from opportunities that arise to give some input to provide benefits to the business. Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data. Knowledge of credit policies and standards and lending and lending policies and procedures. Must be able to understand financial data (Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statements, Financial Ratios, etc.) and apply those skills as they pertain to the loan underwriting process Skills: Ability to analyze and monitor country credit risks that face the business. Ability to devise solutions relevant to a particular situation considering the specific circumstances, country laws and norms Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
