Job Description

The Youth Engagement & Learning Associate will play a key role in the transformative Harnessing Agricultural Productivity and Prosperity for Youth (HAPPY) program. The objective is to enhance the well-being, resilience, and active participation of youth - especially women, in Ghana’s formal agribusiness and related sectors.

Introduction: Jobberman Ghana is on a mission to unlock work opportunities in Agriculture for Ghanaian youth - specifically in the rice, soybean, tomato and poultry value chains. The primary objective of the project dubbed Harnessing Agricultural Productivity and Prosperity for Youth (HAPPY) program, is to enhance the well-being, resilience, and active engagement of youth - especially women, in Ghana’s formal agribusiness and related sectors. The project activities will aim to dispense agro-employability focused education through no-tech, low-tech and high tech platforms across the regions of Ghana to allow for inclusion and wide adoption. The main goal is to connect over 8,000 youth to employment opportunities in the Agriculture sector within 4 years, with inclusion principles applied to reach youth with disabilities. Key interventions of the HAPPY project include mobilizing job seekers in the respective agriculture value chains, linking participants with employers in the Agriculture sector through the Jobberman recruitment platform, online and offline job promotion, career fairs and other sensitization methods. Our mission: Mission: involves deploying agro-employability-focused education through diverse platforms across Ghana, emphasizing social inclusion in every facet of our training. Responsibilities: Overall Project Management and Compliance Implement programs focusing on Learning and Development, ideation, and implementation of best-in-class pedagogical approaches to soft skills training tailored to the agricultural sector. Plan and coordinate, Train the Trainer, sessions, instructional design, and LMS coordination to reach all learner segments, including Northern and Blue-collar segments. Establish a proper monitoring and evaluation system for measuring the effectiveness of training programs. Engage public and private stakeholders to build healthy relationships. Participate in the facilitation of soft skills training sessions. Support CV writing projects and provide after-sales support. Provide technical inputs during the planning, organizing, and coordination of project monitoring processes, assessments, surveys, research, and evaluations. Act as a field content driver for www.jobberman.com.gh/youthengagement. Support the team in achieving the overall goals and objectives of the youth engagement component of Jobberman. Develop and submit activity plans for review and implementation. Identify, build, and manage collaborative partnerships with governments and other stakeholders, specifically in the agricultural sector. Proactively form relationships with implementing partners to complement Jobberman funding. End to end event management. Overall Project Management and Compliance Support the team in ensuring that the overall goal and objectives of YE are achieved. Coordinate all physical and online training in Accra. Provide partners reports and feedback. Develop and submit activity plans for the Youth Engagement (YE). Cultivate existing relationships and develop new funder relationships. Tailor soft skills training to the relevant demography(i.e Agricultural Sector) Skills & Competencies: Relevant Experience in Similar Role will be an advantage. Good understanding of the agricultural sector, including knowledge of best practices, trends, and challenges, to tailor training programs effectively. Ability to create engaging and impactful instructional materials for diverse learner segments. Experience in coordinating and managing events, both physical and online, with attention to detail and organizational skills. Proactive approach to problem-solving, bringing innovative ideas and measurable strategies to meet youth engagement objectives.
