Job Description

After nearly 7 years of successfully serving our clients and growing steadily, we require a Finance Officer with the skills and attention to detail to take our firm’s financial operations to the next level.

Our Company is a leading law firm which advises a broad range on clients ranging from multinationals to non- profits, SMEs and start-ups. Founded in 2017, we focus on excellence in the delivery of our services to clients, transparent and timely billing of clients, and generally running a highly compliant and transparent business. We value the contributions and development of all of our team and allow each other the flexibility required in terms of where we work from and at what times of day. Our firm includes two offices (Accra and London), working on the same IT / finance platform. Responsibilities: Enhancing the firm’s efficiency and improving its financial management systems and communicating financial information to the firm’s partners. Working with the firm’s practice management, time recording and accounting software (Practice Panther, Xero and MS Office suite) to efficiently manage the firm’s finances. Liaising with the firm’s accountants in the UK and Ghana, as well as the relevant tax authorities, on a regular basis. Supporting the partners in setting the firm’s annual budget and preparing client invoice Updating relevant financial databases including on Excel, Xero and Practice Panther Preparing finance reports in Excel on a monthly, semi-annual and annual basis, showing graphical presentations of financial performance Qualification and Experience Required Experience in managing finances within a law firm or similar service company. Experience in supporting others on financial, accounting and other operational issues. Proven ability to communicate and explain financial information, including articulacy in written and oral communications and a high degree of numeracy Ability to demonstrate good judgment. Competent use of IT skills, including effective use of Excel formulas and other financial analytical features. Desirable: Qualified accountant with demonstrated knowledge and experience of finance practices. Familiarity with using time recording software such a Practice Panther for billing. Familiarity with Xero. Location: Accra Salary Range: Attractive Employment Type: Full Time
