Job Description

The NRA is seeking to recruit to fill various positions in its organizational structure. The NRA hereby invites qualified Ghanaians to apply for any of the positions listed below. A Mechanical Engineering Stress Analyst for a nuclear regulatory body plays a critical role in ensuring the structural and mechanical integrity and safety of nuclear power plants, research reactors, and other nuclear facilities, through the review of analyses conducted and the inspection of structures, systems and components. The job description includes: Reviewing the conduct of mechanical stress analysis calculations for structures, systems and components of a nuclear facility including pressure vessels, containments, piping, etc. to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The analysis can include seismic analysis, dynamic analysis, thermal and pressure transient analysis, flow-transient analysis, etc. Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) will be an advantage. Review the design and evaluation of structures, systems and components (SSC) to ensure mechanical integrity and to ensure that SSCs comply with industry codes such as the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes. Review the selection of different types of materials for different SSC elements and ensure that they are suitably seismically and environmentally qualified taking ageing and corrosion considerations into account.

Requirement(s)

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Bachelors degree with significant experience in mechanical stress analysis could be considered.
