Mine Supervisor
Job Description
Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to ensure employees are well informed of safety and production issues. Supervision of transportation of ore to the Mill and waste to the Waste Dump. Ensure the access roads on the Mine are well maintained. Ensure the water abstraction points on the Mine for collection of water for dust suppression are always available. Ensure the hired mining equipment hours of work are accurate as per work done. Assist the Mine Foreman to supervise the mining and haulage contractors to effectively perform their works. Monitor dayworks jobs and report on work progress. Lead and supervise the ore stockpiling and depletion at the ROMPAD. Supervise activities at the ROM PAD to ensure excellent execution of crusher feed plans. Manage and report on all shift activities at the end of the shift. Perform other related duties that may be assigned by the supervisor A degree in Mining Engineering or any related course Must have a Shift Boss certificate issued by the Mines Inspectorate of the Minerals Commission of Ghana. Minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Mine Supervisor in an open pit with demonstrated leadership competencies. Knowledgeable in occupational health & safety regulations. Must be conversant with the Mining Act and related regulations of the Republic of Ghana, and able to interpret and apply these laws and regulations. The Minerals Commission’s certificate in Mine Captain will be an added advantage. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, organizational, technical, and analytical skills. A strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner. Ability to work under pressure with little supervision. Good communication, interpersonal and written skills. Working knowledge of all mine production equipment. Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently. Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license and have the ability to drive in rough terrain. Ability to apply knowledge of standards, methods, and procedures to work situation. Good team player in task involving cross-functional teams. Results oriented drive and solid work ethics, with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to train and mentor team members and demonstrate safety leadership. Willingness and ability to perform field work in an extreme mining environment. Must be results and action oriented.
Requirement(s)
