Electrical Technicians
Job Description
1. Electrical Installation & Maintenance: Install and maintain electrical wiring, control systems, and power distribution units in plastic manufacturing machines. Inspect and service electrical panels, motors, and control circuits. Ensure proper grounding and connection of electrical systems to prevent hazards. 2. Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair electrical faults in plastic processing equipment such as injection molding machines, extruders, and chillers. Test and replace malfunctioning components, including sensors, relays, circuit breakers, and PLC systems. Troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motor control systems. 3. Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine electrical maintenance on production machinery to prevent unexpected breakdowns. Maintain records of all electrical servicing and repairs. Ensure that all electrical systems comply with operational and safety standards. 4. Automation & Control Systems: Assist in programming and troubleshooting PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) used in plastic manufacturing machines. Support automation upgrades and improvements in the production process. Ensure optimal functionality of HMI (Human-Machine Interface) and SCADA systems. 5. Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all electrical work follows company policies and regulatory standards. Adhere to electrical safety protocols, including the use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures. Conduct risk assessments and recommend improvements for electrical safety. 6. General Duties: Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure minimal downtime. Assist in electrical system upgrades and energy efficiency initiatives. Stay updated with new technologies and best practices in electrical engineering for plastic manufacturing.
Requirement(s)
Education: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in electrical maintenance within the plastic manufacturing industry. Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems in plastic processing machines. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting. Knowledge of VFDs, servo drives, and industrial automation. Ability to use electrical testing tools and diagnostic equipment. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
